MESTENGO-FULL DOCUMENTARY

(26 MIN. SHORT DOC ABOVE)

"Mestengo" is a documentary produced in 2005 by Sonya Richins, the founder of Wild Heart Sanctuary. The documentary sheds light on the wild mustangs of the USA, and it was one of the first to do so. Sadly, the situation has only gotten worse since then. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has been rounding up wild horses and implementing sterilization and birth control measures, which are pushing the wild horse population toward extinction. Less than 20,000 wild horses remain free, while over 70,000 are held in government-holding pens. It is important to note that taxpayers’ dollars fund these actions.

THE HORSE'S VOICE

(FULL-LENGTH TRAILER ABOVE)

Introduces an exciting reality documentary series called "The Horses Voice." We seek funding to continue this project and turn it into a weekly series showcasing the unique bond between horses and humans. Each week, the series will feature a new horse and its caretaker, along with an animal communicator, who will explore the fascinating communication that takes place between horses and humans. It is an enlightening and entertaining series, as it turns out that horses have a lot to say! Through this series, we hope to inspire people to appreciate the magic of horses and create awareness about the harsh conditions these animals have to endure because of human actions. Join us on this journey to explore the beauty and wonder of these magnificent creatures.

THE HEALING POWER OF HORSES

(TRAILER ABOVE)

Sonya has journeyed across America to capture the powerful footage of horses healing humans. Her documentary showcases scientifically proven and inexplicable cases of horses transforming human lives. You can watch the rough cut trailer of the documentary above and be inspired by the message that sheds light on how sensitive, healing and intuitive horses are. We are seeking funding for post-production on all our projects to spread the message further. If you're interested in supporting this project or have questions, please use the 'Contact Us' section below to join this inspiring journey.

Sonya Richins, the founder of Wild Heart Sanctuary, was appalled when she received videos from the humane society in 2005 showing the cruel BLM roundups and slaughter of wild horses. She felt outraged that taxpayers were funding this inhumane treatment of horses and took action to be their voice. There was a lack of internet at that time, so she had to work tirelessly to raise funds and produce a documentary called Mestengo to spread the word. She aimed to raise awareness about the inefficient and inhumane Wild Horse Management practices of BLM and the horse slaughter industry. After three years of hard work and dedication, Mestengo was finally completed and premiered at the Leonardo. It was also viewed at the Sundance Film Festival.

Sonya's dedication to being the Wild Horses' Voice is genuinely remarkable.

In addition to Mestengo, she produced two inspiring trailers, "The Horse's Voice" and "Healing Power of Horses."

THE 'OLD SCHOOL' WAY OF FILM PRODUCTION

The wild horse population is currently facing the risk of extinction!

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is using inhumane practices such as massive roundups and

sterilization with poison, which is driving them toward extinction.

Shockingly, our tax dollars are being used to fund the captivity of over

70,000 wild horses are in BLM pens, while the population in the wild is less than 20,000.

It is imperative that we raise our voices and become advocates for these beautiful creatures.

We cannot let them become extinct. We must act now, join the cause, and be their voice!
